Water taps Dunea

Water company Dunea and World Forum The Hague are joining forces. From now on, visitors of the World Forum can fill their own bottle with free tap water.

Climate Fund The Hague

World Forum has signed an agreement with the Climate Fund to locally offset the organisations CO2 emissions from 2022. With the financial contribution of World Forum, the Climate Fund supports local energy saving projects in The Hague. For example placing solar panels on the roof of a school.

Green Recovery Business Statement 

More than 200 companies have signed the Green Recovery Statement. With the statement, the Dutch business community is advocating a sustainable recovery of the economy after the corona crisis. The Green Recovery Statement was established at the initiative of the Dutch Sustainable Growth Coalition (DSGC), in collaboration with VNO-NCW, Global Compact Netherlands, MVO Nederland and the Dutch Banking Association. The World Forum has also signed the Green Recovery Business Statement to underline the importance of sustainability in the recovery of COVID-19.

The main points of the Green Recovery Statement are:

  1. Make the EU Green Deal the cornerstone of EU recovery plans;
  2. Ensure that the investments resulting from the COVID-19 recovery plan help the economy further in achieving the SDGs’ and objectives of the Paris Agreement;
  3. Continue to provide long-term certainty about the Dutch Climate Agreement and measurable obligations.

Solar panels 

There are 252 solar panels on the roof of World Forum, which have been installed in collaboration with the Municipality of The Hague by the citizens’ initiative Cooperative Zon.

Fresh air zone 

World Forum has a ‘fresh air zone’. This was developed with various parties. The green roof contributes to a better environment and prevents flooding. In addition to its climate neutral role, the green roof plays a role in the vitality of the conference participants.
