During the Nuclear Security Summit 2014 (NSS), 58 world leaders, 5.000 delegates and 3.000 international journalists came together in The Hague, the international city of Peace & Justice. During the NSS, World Forum The Hague was the stage for the largest government conference ever held in the Netherlands. Despite the strict security measures concerning the world leaders, The Hague and World Forum showed that they are capable of organizing a conference of world format. When an extra conference was necessary due to the global political situation, this was flawlessly organized at the last minute for the G7 leaders.
In total, 53 countries and 58 world leaders came together from 24 to 25 March during the Nuclear Security Summit (NSS) in 2014. During the congress, concrete agreements were made on nuclear material and preventive measures regarding terrorism. In addition, the agreements made in 2012 were reviewed, which improvements should be implemented and an ambitious plan was drawn up for the future.
