Discophonic Orchestra was founded in 2014 by jazz trombonist and arranger Lex van Wel, who has a deep passion for the orchestral and rhythmic richness of 70s disco. The ensemble consists of 30 musicians, including 10 strings, 6 wind instruments, a rhythm section, and 7 top vocalists. Together they bring the iconic sound of the disco era back to the stage.
