The event will take place at The Hague’s recently renovated and state-of-the-art venue, the World Forum. More than 700 participants are expected to attend the conference which will be held in The Hague for the first time.

“The importance of networking and of collaboration in all areas related to Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia will be a real focus of our conference, and we are confident that The Hague, as a truly international congress city, offering a fantastic array and standard of meeting venues, excellent transport links and proximity to universities and policymakers alike, is the perfect place for our conference delegates to make these important connections” said Jean Georges, Executive Director of Alzheimer Europe.

“The Hague is making great forward strides in ensuring it is accessible and welcoming for everyone, and we are delighted that our 2019 Annual Conference will be held in such a progressive and socially-conscious city. We are also very grateful to the city of The Hague for offering us such excellent support with the organisation of our congress” said Mr Georges.

“Alzheimer Netherlands is very pleased that the Alzheimer Europe Conference 2019 is in the Netherlands. Dementia is a growing social problem. This is the moment to highlight the disease in Europe, but also specifically in the Netherlands, “says Marco Blom, Alzheimer Netherlands. “The Hague as a location fits perfectly with this. Together with partners, Alzheimer Netherlands wants to embrace this moment. Our ambition is to give people with dementia and their neighbours the lead. By involving all stakeholders, we will provide a momentous congress about dementia.”

“The city truly appreciates the fact that The Hague was selected to host the Alzheimer Europe Conference in 2019,” says Deputy Mayor Karsten Klein, The Hague's alderman for Economic Affairs, Ports, Welfare and Health. “This event will be of great significance for many organizations, and many individuals. We believe that as a city of impact, The Hague will be the perfect podium for Alzheimer Europe Conference.”

The annual Alzheimer Europe Conference will bring together people who are affected by dementia, by living with the disease, caring for someone with the disease or working in the field of dementia— all have the opportunity to share and exchange their experience and knowledge of the disease.
